Yulisa Leon had a major threat looming on her career after she copped a serious injury on her knee. However, after a successful surgery, she was back to the ring in May 2023 and it is expected that she would be continuing to carry forth the excellence that she is known for in the NXT ring, WWE’s developmental brand to bring up to speed all the budding wrestlers.

She had a torn ligament in her knee that kept her away from the ring for nine months and eventually after she came back to the ring she took on the reigning NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn. #1 Early roots

Jennifer Michelle Cantu Iglesias was born on April 9, 1996, and has her wrestling roots in Mexico. She isn’t the first one in her family though to have been a part of wrestling. Her father grappled in Mexico under the ring name Bronco. She is the first female professional grappler from Mexico to be signed by WWE.

#2 Powerlifting career

The WWE Universe knows very well that Yulisa is one of the strongest women in the NXT circuit. However, that strength doesn’t come just like that. It comes from her early days in powerlifting. She is three times World Powerlifting Gold Medallist. In fact, she was also ready to prepare for the 2020 Olympics only to drop out due to a health complication.

#3 How did it all start for Yulisa Leon?

After being a part of the December 2019 Tryouts, it was reported that on February 26, 2021, WWE signed Iglesias for a developmental contract on February 26th, 2021. She made her debut on October 22, 2021, episode of 205 Live where she paired alongside Katrina Cortez in a tag team against Amari Miller and Valentina Feroz.
