WWE SummerSlam 2023 is still many months away, but it looks like the company has already started planning for the show. Former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will participate in a dream match at The Biggest Party of Summer this year, with her SummerSlam feud likely to start at WrestleMania 39 itself.
WrestleMania 39 will take place on April 1 and 2 in California. WWE has announced several big matches for the show already. One of them is a six-woman tag team match between Team Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO Sky) and the union of Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus and Lita.
The storyline between the six Superstars has been a main part of Monday night RAW episodes of late. Becky Lynch even teamed up with Lita to defeat Dakota Kai and IYO Sky and become the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Trish Stratus made a shocking return to WWE to help Becky and Lita neutralize the Bayley factor of Damage CTRL and become the champions. However, according to WRKD Wrestling, WWE plans to turn Trish heel at WrestleMania 39.
Trish Stratus vs Becky Lynch feud to begin around WrestleMania 39
The report states that WWE plans to turn Stratus heel soon, and then, she will have a SummerSlam match with Becky Lynch. In case you didn’t know, Becky defeated Trish’s best friend Lita in Saudi Arabia last year. Also, Becky and Trish had a confrontation at a WWE Live Event after the former’s RAW Women’s Championship title defense against Rhea Ripley.
During that confrontation, Trish Stratus slapped Becky Lynch. Stratus may soon slap Becky once again and turn heel for the first time in almost two decades. It remains to be seen if the betrayal happens at the Showcase of Immortals or on the RAW episode after WrestleMania. The match between Stratus and Lynch should be one for the ages.
