WWE Clash At The Castle 2022 Rumors: Big Match Involving Edge Planned For The UK PPV

Edge will reportedly be teaming up with his wife Beth Phoenix and WWE legend Rey Mysterio at WWE Clash At The Castle in Cardiff on September 3. The Rated-R Superstar has planned on destroying his own creation in Judgment Day who have ambushed him time and again. They had planned to do that again on this week’s RAW after his win over the group’s Damien Priest, when his wife Beth came out running and saved him with a steel chair in hand in his hometown of Toronto.

Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio recently said: “You could see it in the ring, it was one of those reactions. It was a big one. It looks like they’re building to something. It looks like Edge, Rey and Beth Phoenix vs Judgment day for WWE Clash At The Castle.”

This won’t be the first time the couple teams up this year as they took on the Miz and Maryse at the Royal Rumble. Edge has also hinted at retiring next year after RAW went off air, saying that he wants to go out on his own terms. He had shockingly returned at the Royal Rumble 2020, surprising everyone in the WWE Universe, to loud cheers.

This return came after a 9-year hiatus due to a career ending neck injury. And although he has returned, he knows at almost 49, his time in the ring is limited. As it has been a calendar routine of WWE to return to Toronto around the month of August, he wants to retire his in front of his home fans next year. This is what he had to say after RAW went off air:

“I hope to come back one last time here in Toronto. Looking at the calendar, we usually come here in August. So, next August, I guarantee each and every one of you. And in a perfect world, we all say goodbye to each other that night.”

Ever since his 2020 return, Edge has achieved more than anyone could have imagined for him. Even winning the Royal Rumble last year to main eventing WrestleMania, the Ultimate Opportunist has had a fantastic return. Him going out on his own terms at 50 is something he deserves and to have fun along the way like teaming up with his wife in Cardiff will only make his journey better.
