When Virat Kohli was the helm, Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane were the vice-captains. However, when there were a few injury issues, the likes of KL Rahul and Cheteshwar Pujara came into the picture. Now, when Virat had an injury in South Africa, KL became the captain and Jasprit Bumrah became his deputy. KL will now miss the upcoming T20I series against West Indies. Hence, Rishabh Pant will assist Rohit Sharma in the leadership decisions. While it is good to have options, Team India should quickly freeze on fewer options so that there is little confusion going forward.
