5 Active WWE Superstars Who Are Just 1 Title Away from becoming Grand Slam Champions

A Grand Slam champion is one who has won it all in their career. The criteria for a WWE Superstar to get recognized as a Grand Slam Champion is that they have to win either the WWE or Universal Championship, both the Intercontinental and United States Championship, and either the Raw or SmackDown Tag Team Championship.

As for women, the Superstars have to win the Raw, SmackDown, and NXT Championships, and Women’s Tag Team Championship. But being a Grand Slam champion is an honor only a handful of superstars have achieved. In the vast sea that is WWE, only the lucky ones have completed the exemplary feat of winning every type of gold the company has to offer. Many retire being almost there, just a title short in their legacy.

Here’s a list of 5 current WWE Superstars who are just one belt shy from being a Grand Slam Champion:

1. WWE RAW Superstar Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens has been trying to get his hands on all the titles throughout his career. So far, he has only been able to successfully acquire the Universal Championship, NXT Championship, three-times on the United States Championship and two-times on the Intercontinental Championship.

Only title to have evaded him so far is the Tag team championship from either brand. But with years left in his career and his Canadian buddy Sami Zayn in WWE as well, this could finally come true in the near future.

2. Dolph Ziggler

One of the most hard working and talented superstars who has been loyal to the company and works every week is the “The Showoff” Dolph Ziggler. He has even won the Big one once in the form of the World Heavy weight title. But since WWE doesn’t accept it anymore as a criterion to get the title of a Grand Slam Champion, he isn’t recognized as one.

He is also a whopping 6 time Intercontinental, a 2-time United States Champion and a 4-time Tag team champion. All he needs now is either the WWE Championship or the Universal Championship to achieve that Grand Slam status. But it’s easier said than done because he is being used as an enhancement talent now with No title opportunities looming on the horizon.

3. WWE SmackDown Superstar Sheamus

A highly decorated veteran and one of the most hard-hitting wrestlers ever is the Celtic Warrior Sheamus. He has been in wars with all top talent over the years and is a multi-time champion in multiple disciplines.

He is a World Heavyweight Champion (1 time), WWE Champion (3 times), United States Champion (3 times) and Tag Team Champion (5 times) with Cesaro. The only title to have evaded him so far is the Intercontinental tile. He tried to capture it recently in an unsuccessful attempt against Gunther at Clash At The Castle. He had claimed earlier, that after winning this he will be the Ultimate Grand Slam Champion, whatever that means. He will have to wait until next time.

The All Mighty Bobby Lashley is one of WWE’s most legitimate tough guys with a long list of MMA credentials under his belt and has even beaten all-time greats like Brock Lesnar.

The Dominator has won the WWE Championship, Intercontinental Championship, ECW World Championship, 2 times each and United States Championship, 3 times and currently reigning. All he needs is a tag title win to complete the set as a Grand Slam Champion.

5. WWE SmackDown Warrior Drew McIntyre

The Scottish Warrior is the biggest babyface of the company and the Chosen One by Vince McMahon himself. He has been one of the top guys even since his return in 2017. So far, his resume includes two-time WWE Champion, one-time Intercontinental Champion, one time NXT Champion and two-time Tag team champion.

He hasn’t won the United States championship yet, which is on the other brand, but has plenty of time to do that being in the prime of his career.
