WWE SummerSlam 2022: Seth Rollins Breaks Silence After Not Getting A Place On Match Card

WWE SummerSlam 2022 got underway today at Nashville in Tennessee, and Seth Rollins did not get a place on the official match card for the show. The Visionary was initially scheduled to battle former United States Champion Riddle at WWE SummerSlam 2022, but just a few days before the premium live event, WWE announced that Riddle will not be able to compete because of injury.

Riddle was officially ruled out of SummerSlam, and then rumors surfaced online claiming that former Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler would replace him and have a match against Seth Rollins. However, the same did not happen.

Just before the match between Liv Morgan and Ronda Rousey at WWE SummerSlam 2022, Riddle called out Seth Rollins for a match. The officials tried to stop him, but Riddle was adamant. Rollins came out and he was stopped by the officials as well. However, he proceeded to the ring and attacked his rival.

Rollins hit Riddle with a stomp in the ring. Before leaving the arena, Rollins was quoted as saying as follows while on air:

“It Ain’t A SummerSlam Without The King Of The Summer Babyyyyy!”

Why did Seth Rollins not wrestle at this year’s WWE SummerSlam 2022?

It seems like Riddle is suffering from a legitimate injury because there was no other reason to pull this match off the card. Earlier, it was reported that Riddle was only having a kayfabe injury and that the match would happen at the Clash at the Castle premium live event. While the match at the Clash at the Castle may still happen, it was baffling to see Seth Rollins not having a match at WWE SummerSlam 2022.

More details should emerge once the insiders get the update on Riddle’s injury. It will be very interesting to see what happens on WWE RAW this Monday night.
