WWE Subtly Refers To Jon Moxley In 2K23 Video Game

Former WWE star Dean Ambrose currently signed with AEW as Jon Moxley, has an easter egg in WWE’s video game. WWE seem to have paid tribute to Moxley in their latest video game of the 2K series called 2K23.

Moxley left WWE almost four years ago and made a surprise debut at AEW Double Or Nothing 2019 PPV. He quickly rose to the top ranks in the Jacksonville based promotion and is it’s top star today.

In WWE’s latest video game WWE 2K23, which is a hit, there is an Easter egg about him. The game boasts a massive roster of wrestlers although not Ambrose (Moxley) himself. A fan has recently pointed out on Facebook that there is a tribute on him in the game. A screenshot by the fan shows a cardboard box with the words “Dirty Deeds” printed on it.

Will Jon Moxley ever return to WWE?

Although Moxley is now a 3-time AEW World Heavyweight Champion and is top draw, he isn’t against a WWE return. While speaking to B/R AMA, he confirmed that the future is uncertain and you “never say never”.

Excerpts from his interview, “You gotta say never say never, because you don’t want to run back what you said years later because you don’t know what’ll happen… I wouldn’t rule out ever doing business with them again, we had a mutually beneficial relationship for a long time.”

Moxley left WWE in 2019 citing creative differences under Vince McMahon’s rule. He especially hated McMahon’s written promos to the point of feeling physically sick while performing them. Jon had explained this in Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast in 2019.

He is very satisfied with his present contract with AEW. His AEW contract allows him to make appearances in other promotions and the independent circuit as well. Maybe we could see him in a WWE Shield reunion in the future.
