He made his pro wrestling debut by training, residing and debuting with WWE Hall of Famer Booker T’s indie promotion Reality of Wrestling. He has learned the ropes from the best there including Booker T, who oversees his pupils.

5. Mace Started in WWE as a commentator

In September 2019, Williams joined the commentary team for WWE’s cruiserweight roster 205 Live, as Dio Maddin, his NXT ring name, replacing Nigel McGuinness. This must be because of his college degree in communications which made him suitable for this role as well.

Soon after, WWE announced as part of their “Premiere Week” that the commentary teams would be going through a change, with Maddin becoming an analyst for the Raw commentary team with Vic Joseph and Jerry Lawler. Later in the year he was sent back to NXT to train as a performer again. Good thing an athlete of his imposing size didn’t get subdued to being just a commentator.
