The early predictions for WWE Payback 2023 have started after the SummerSlam show ended last night in Detroit. It was a memorable party at the Ford Field, where Roman Reigns defeated Jey Uso to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
Roman will not compete at Payback. Even Brock Lesnar will not feature on the show, but Payback should be an entertaining show. It will take place on September 2 at the PPG Paints Arena. Here are some early predictions for five matches that could happen on the premium live event.
1. WWE Payback early predictions – Jimmy Uso vs. Jey Uso
Jimmy Uso shockingly betrayed his brother Jey at WWE SummerSlam. With Payback still four weeks away, fans should expect a thrilling feud between the Usos on SmackDown, with a match taking place at the premium live event.
2. WWE Payback early predictions – Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship
Neither Rhea Ripley nor Becky Lynch wrestled at SummerSlam. Ripley is currently involved in a rivalry with former women’s tag team champions Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. However, both of them are currently injured.

Meanwhile, Becky Lynch will end her rivalry with Trish Stratus on the August 14 episode of RAW. If Becky beats Trish, she can demand a title match against Rhea at Payback because she defeated a Hall of Famer.
3. LA Knight vs Austin Theory, WWE United States Championship
Austin Theory is likely to retain his US Championship against Santos Escobar on SmackDown. He will need a new challenger for Payback, and there is no better option than LA Knight.

Which got the bigger pop? I’ll let you decide.
It just speaks to LA Knight’s incredible popularity that fans cared so much about him winning a battle royal that was pretty much meaningless.… pic.twitter.com/pt0nWVGpXs

He earned a ton of momentum by winning the Slim Jim Battle Royal at SummerSlam. Winning the US Championship should be the next move for LA Knight.
4. IYO Sky vs. Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair, WWE Women’s Championship
IYO Sky became the new women’s champion at SummerSlam. She cashed in her Money in the Bank contract on Bianca Belair, who beat Asuka and Charlotte Flair for the title. It should not be a surprise if a fatal 4-way match is announced for Payback.
