Last season, RCB signed Kedar Jadhav as a replacement when David Willey got injured. Hence, it won’t be a surprise if RCB takes a similar decision again. Tom Curran is currently recovering from an injury and as per reports, he could get ruled out of IPL 2024. Here, we take a look at three Indian players RCB can target as replacement if Tom Curran gets ruled out of IPL 2024.
1) V Koushik
V Koushik is one pacer who has been impressing with his performances in the last few months. He has been an expert at bowling very consistently with the new ball.
It is still not sure who will share the new ball with Mohammed Siraj for IPL 2024. Yash Dayal is the only Indian option. The team will need a player who can maintain the pressure that Siraj applies. Hence, Koushik could be a suitable pick.
2) Sourabh Kumar
Sourabh Kumar is one of the Indian players RCB can target as a replacement if Tom Curran gets ruled out of IPL 2024. Yes, he is a performer in Tests but having been selected for Team India recently, his confidence will be at a high.
If he has done well in Tests, it means he has his bases covered. If he can tune his mindset to the T20 format, he could be the spinner that could help improve the spin attack for RCB. He is also a decent batter in the lower order and that would help.
3) KC Cariappa
At times, even good spinners are taken to the cleaners at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Hence, someone with a mystery element could survive here. RCB has not tried this till now.
KC Cariappa is playing mostly against teams in the plate division. Nevertheless, he is picking wickets and he is in good form. Hence, RCB should consider selecting Cariappa, who played for Karnataka before.
