WWE, like any well-oiled machine, relies on numerous individuals to keep things running smoothly, including the hosts of shows like WWE’s The Bump. However, it seems that WWE has recently bid farewell to one of its prominent personalities.
According to reports, Matt Camp, who has been a fixture as the host of The Bump and various other WWE content for several years, was confirmed to have been released last week. A lot of people in the organisation were surprised to hear of Camp’s exit because there was no official word from WWE or a clear explanation for his termination.
Camp had been with WWE since September 2019 and had consistently helmed every episode of The Bump, WWE’s Wednesday talk show, until his departure last week. Despite his significant role on the show, there was no mention of Camp’s exit during the last episode, leaving viewers in the dark about his absence.
Camp featured on up to four weekly WWE shows, including Raw Talk and Smackdown Lowdown on the WWE Network and Peacock, in addition to his work on The Bump. Along with contributing to several WWE Network compilation specials, he was a frequent fixture on Premium Live Event Kickoff Shows, with his most recent appearance occurring on the WWE NXT Vengeance Day Kickoff.
Prior to joining WWE, Camp served as the lead announcer for Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore promotion, contributed regularly to SiriusXM’s Busted Open, and held the position of lead Fantasy Football Analyst for WBD’s Bleacher Report. Even with his wealth of knowledge and accomplishments, many were surprised to learn that Camp was let go by WWE, raising concerns about who will take over in his place going forward.
