WWE is set to produce its next PLE after a series of successful events, Bash in Berlin. The mega show is slated to happen at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany, on Saturday, August 31. One of the marquee matches will see Cody Rhodes defend his Undisputed WWE Title against The Prizefighter, Kevin Owens. However, a wrestling veteran questioned KO receiving the title shot, looking at his past records that did not back him receiving a huge opportunity.

On the recent edition of Writing with Russo, wrestling veteran Vince Russo gave his take on Kevin Owens getting a World title shot at Bash in Berlin. He brought up Owens’ win-loss record, pointing to the fact that KO has lost more matches than won, and believed that WWE should consider the same while selecting No.1 contenders for World Championship matches.
“They present it as a competition. I mean, there is no getting around, you are presenting it as a competition. Like Dr. Chris said, if you are 6-9 (wins-losses), how are you getting a title shot?”
Following his successful title defence at WWE SummerSlam, Cody Rhodes was given the choice to hand-pick his next opponent. In turn, he chose his friend, Kevin Owens, believing that he deserved a title shot, despite KO’s thinking otherwise. The match was later made official by SmackDown GM Nick Aldis.
Moreover, things looked to escalate between Rhodes and Owens after A-Town Down Under tried to drive a wedge between them. Their plan failed as the duo were defeated by Cody and Kevin in the main event of the August 23 episode of SmackDown.
However, it did look like Owens was going to betray Rhodes at the end, but that did not happen, adding an intriguing layer to this feud as WWE Bash in Berlin approaches.
