India had to suffer a tough and disappointing exit from the 2022 T20 World Cup. The team lost embarrassingly by 10 wickets to England in the semi-finals of the tournament. With this loss, we could witness a lot of changes with respect to Team India. There are reports that some of the seniors may not play the format in the next year. On that note, here, we take a look as Twitter reacts to reports that Indian seniors won’t play T20Is in the next year.

The Indian T20I team needs many changes

India’s approach in the T20 format is still old-fashioned. While openers from other teams were going guns, the Indian openers just could not do well. Apart from this, the likes of Dinesh Karthik, R Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar also did not have the desired impact. It is high time for the management to make changes and we could see them happening in the next few tournaments.

India’s first problem to fix will be the opening combination. The likes of Shubman Gill are already being groomed for the same. India needs to find a good finisher to partner with Hardik Pandya while the spin department entirely might have to be changed. In the pace unit, India has a lot of options and hence, there are not many concerns.

next year. The seniors will focus on these challenges and hence, the T20 format will not be a part of their calendar. The next big event in T20Is will be the 2024 T20 World Cup.
