Xero News responded to a fan’s tweet stating that John Cena’s next match could be at Wrestlemania 39 against Mr. Money in the Bank Austin Theory. It was teased in a heated backstage confrontation between the two during Cena’s celebration night on RAW and earlier reported to take place at this year’s SummerSlam, but did not happen. The tweet also promoted no plans for the Scottish Warrior Drew McIntyre for Mania as of now.
Austin Theory has been targeting the veteran Superstar for quite a while now with many claiming him to be the younger version of Cena in today’s generation of talent. He quickly rose up to the ranks as Vince McMahon’s protege and was dubbed the Blue-Chip prospect, visioned as the next big WWE Superstar by the former Boss.
John Cena, on the other hand, has not wrestled at a WrestleMania since 2020 and his last major televised match saw him taking a crushing loss at the hands of Roman Reigns at WWE SummerSlam 2021.
