Star Sports announces English commentators for IPL 2024
Nowadays, fans expect the best effort by the broadcasters to deliver the game for them. The commentators and the presenters play an important role in making the game more engaging for the fans. Hence, it is always important for the broadcasters to get the right people onboard to bring the game closer to the audience.
While it is important to have some legends of the game to cater to all sections, some viewers like the analytical side of the game and hence, the broadcasters need to balance both. In this regard, before every season, there is a talk about who would be the best commentators for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.
Fans on X react to the announcement
As usual, some of the legends of the game will be back in the panel for IPL 2024. Some of the popular names include the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri. Foreigners such as Brian Lara and Ian Bishop will also be a part of the panel. Some of the recently retired cricketers such as Aaron Finch will continue to be a part. Dale Steyn and Brian Lara, who were coaches at SRH last season, will be commentators in IPL 2024. While Lara was relieved of his duties, Steyn withdrew due to personal reasons. Overall, it looks to be a solid set of commentators who will entertain the fans in IPL 2024. However, some of the fans were not impressed with the list. On that note, here is how the fans reacted to the announcement:

23 out of 32 commentators for the IPL are from outside of India. Sure, English isn't the 1st language in India & they need the best professionals, doesn't matter where they're from.
