Many fans consider Jasprit Bumrah the best fast bowler of the modern era. One of the main reasons behind it is that he has the ability to perform well in both Test cricket and T20 matches. Very few bowlers have mastered the art of bowling well in the red-ball format and the white-ball formats. Bumrah belongs to that rare category.
Speaking of his bowling skills in the T20 format, Bumrah once bowled a sensational Super Over for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The right-arm fast bowler came to defend 12 runs off six balls against the Gujarat Lions in the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League. The batters from the Gujarat Lions team were Brendon McCullum and Aaron Finch.
Bumrah started the over with a no-ball. Given how dangerous the duo of McCullum and Finch is, any fan could say that the Gujarat Lions were the favorites to win. However, Jasprit Bumrah made an incredible comeback and fired perfect yorkers to trouble the Trans-Tasman pair. He conceded only five more runs.
Earlier in the match, the Gujarat Lions team batted first and scored 153 runs in their 20 overs. Opening batter Ishan Kishan stole the show with a 48-run knock at the top. Andrew Tye played a decent cameo of 25 runs from 12 deliveries. In reply, a 70-run innings from Parthiv Patel helped the Mumbai Indians inch closer to the target. Gujarat bowled them out for 153 runs eventually and took the game to a Super Over.
James Faulkner bowled the Super Over for the Gujarat Lions. He conceded 11 runs off the first five balls but managed to take two wickets. Gujarat lost the Super Over by five runs because of Bumrah’s phenomenal performance.

It will be interesting to see how Bumrah performs in IPL 2022. The Mumbai Indians unsurprisingly retained him ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction.
