
The year 2022 began with a major change for the WWE with the introduction of a new pay-per-view, WWE Day 1 taking place on the first day of the new year (January 1, 2022) branded as a “Premium Live Event”, to refer to their events airing on PPV.
The event took place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and saw an excellent line-up of top-caliber WWE Superstars featured on the highly stacked event match card.

Key highlights of the first-ever edition of WWE’s newest show saw Liv Morgan’s stellar performance against Becky Lynch for the RAW Women’s Title despite a losing effort, Edge silencing The Miz, RK-Bro and The Usos retaining the RAW and Smackdown Tag Team titles against The Street Profits and The New day in their respective matches.
Also, a sudden change of plans saw Brock Lesnar entering the scheduled Fatal 4-Way WWE title match and defeating the entire battlefield to become the new Champion after his original opponent Roman Reigns was tested positive for covid and their scheduled match for the WWE Universal Championship was canceled.
With the global juggernaut looking to make WWE Day 1 their annual pay-per-view event, the second edition has been announced to once again take place on January 1 in the year 2023 in the same venue in Georgia, this year could see a change currently in consideration with the top management.
WWE might change the date for Day 1 in 2023
According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer, leading wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer has reported that the top brass will come to a decision on whether to keep the Day 1 show on the same date as last year or make a change with a talk going around that the date of the event maybe is changed. If that is indeed the case, WWE will most likely make an official announcement by next week with the venue remaining the same.

According to the latest reports, the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar is also advertised to wrestle at the event along with appearing on WWE Crown Jewel and Royal Rumble events as well.
