Things have went terribly wrong for AEW as they struggle to get their ratings back up. After losing CM Punk to WWE, after playing the Devil card against MJF, somehow the viewers have entirely lost interest in the entire showdown.
As per the latest ratings and the numbers released by All Elite Wrestling, they had just 797000 viewers and the rating received on a P18-49 was 0.29 which is like an all time low for the company. It seems that Tony Khan is losing it despite throwing all the weight behind the trash talk that targeted Jinder Mahal and it is backfiring.
So what is going wrong for AEW? We suppose everything. From messed up storylines to skewered match cards, from a downward spiral which was very terribly forced upon MJF, their true champion, their Spartacus, to letting Adam Cole have a posing moment and then bury that, things are going horribly south.
Oh, also Edge who is an icon in WWE, he is lost in the wilderness. There is nothing massive that he can talk about and the entire world is falling part. He is just another midtable guy. Christian and Samoa Joe somehow have been sidelined with bossy roles and that is all they have.
Here is what Twitter had to say about the latest AEW ratings
Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley are the two beacons of hope and yet they are burning dimly. Unless, things go terribly upside down which somewhat refers to a momentous shift in management and maybe get someone who is more familiar with the management of the wrestlers, the fans and the creatives, someone who has been up close with WWE, someone who knows what exactly they are doing, then there can be a very slender ray of light.
At the moment, Twitter derided AEW for their poor bookings numbers and here is what they had to say.

This is what happens when you try and hinder Jinder

This is pretty much where they are at numbers wise. How big the lead in is pretty much determines whether or not they go over that 800k mark.

So, this is down huge yoy.
2023: 967,000 and .33
2022: 969,000 and .39The lower 800,000 and higher 700,000s may be settling in as their new norm as opposed to mid to high 800s and low 900s like it was.

When did AEW stop being fun to watch? I used to love it as an alternative to WWE but itโs unwatchable now. What went wrong?
