In what has been the latest development, as per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) withdraws Jasprit Bumrah from the ODI squad against Sri Lanka as they don’t want to rush him.
The governing body decided to keep Jasprit Bumrah fresh for India’s upcoming important assignments in the Test series against Australia, World Test Championship and ODI World Cup.
Bumrah originally was not named in the ODI series squad for Sri Lanka. He was added to the team as a late addition after the medical team deemed him fit to play. The pacer has not joined the team in Guwahati, who are preparing for the first game.
Bumrah has been out of cricketing action since September 2022. He suffered a back injury and was ruled out of the T20 World Cup. The ODI series between India and Sri Lanka will be played from 10th January to 15th January.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya (VC), Washington Sundar, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik and Arshdeep Singh.
