Ben Stokes decides to donate his match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan Flood appeal
England is all set to tour Pakistan for the three-match Test series after 17 years in December this year. The first game will be played from 1st December in Rawalpindi followed by the second game to be scheduled on 9th December in Multan. The final game of the series will take place in Karachi from 17th December.
Both the teams have named their squad for the series and England after preparing in Abu Dhabi has reached Pakistan for the historic Test series. The cricketing heavyweights have almost ticked all the boxes and would be eager to step on the field on 1st December.
With the series yet to begin, English skipper Ben Stokes has already won the hearts of many with his heartwarming gesture. The all-rounder has decided to donate his match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan Flood appeal
Several people have been killed in rain-related incidents in Pakistan since June with thousands left homeless. PCB also denoted part of the gate earnings during the T20I series for the country’s flood-affected victims.
Taking to his official Twitter account, Stokes made the announcement and said:
“It is great to be in Pakistan for the first time for this historic series. To be back here after 17 years as a Test side is very exciting. There is a sense of responsibility amongst the playing and support group and to be here is special. The floods that devastated Pakistan earlier this year was very sad to see and has had significant impact on the country and the people.
The game has given me a lot in my life and I feel it’s only right to give something back that goes far beyond cricket. I will be donating my match fees from this Test series to the Pakistan Flood appeal. Hopefully this donation can go towards the rebuilding of areas of Pakistan most affected by the flooding.”

Beautiful from Stokesy.
And a great reminder that a public display of altruism isn't seen as "showing off" – and in fact encourages more giving. https://t.co/pMkyeSF8GG
