A fine win for Punjab Kings
With the way they started, it appeared difficult for the Punjab Kings would win the game. However, Sam Curran and Jitesh Sharma stepped up with the bat and pulled PBKS to a score above 200. With this target, unless there was a ridiculous show by the MI batters, PBKS was in the driver’s seat.
It almost came close to happening. The MI batters were in top form, especially the likes of Cameron Green and Suryakumar Yadav. Both the players hit their fifties and were looking dangerous for Punjab. Even Tim David hit a few big shots to take MI close to the record chase. However, Arshdeep did not let that happen as he defended 16 runs in the last over to close the game for his side.
Despite the absence of some key stars such as Shikhar Dhawan and Kagiso Rabada, PBKS has actually been doing well. Even against RCB, they seemed in control of the chase and if not for the fall of wickets regularly, they could have pulled off the chase. Nevertheless, the win against MI will give confidence to the team for the rest of the campaign.
