There were a lot of expectations from Team India after having won the first ODI. However, it was a listless performance as they lost to Australia by 10 wickets. India just could not put up a fight in this encounter. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted as Australia humiliated India in the 2nd ODI at Visakhapatnam.
India loses the 2nd ODI at Visakhapatnam heavily
Batting first, it was Mitchell Starc who inflicted the major damage on Team India. He took the first four wickets, which included Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. Although Virat Kohli tried to make amends, he also lost his wicket and there was no coming back for the Indian Team. Yet again, Axar Patel had a decent outing but that was not enough as India was bundled out for just 117 runs.
With such a score on board, it was clear that India would lose the game. However, seeing the swing in the first innings, many expected Shami and Siraj to trouble the Aussie batters. However, that was not the case. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head were in top form as they took the Indian bowlers all across the park. While Marsh made 66 runs, Head contributed with 51 runs as Australia chased the target in just 11 overs.
Twitter reacts to the result of the game
Even in the first game, if not for a partnership between KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja, India would have lost the game. In the second encounter, too, there was a batting collapse and India could not make a comeback. The bowling department, as well, looked off-colour but the main reason was anyways the poor show by the batters. While Twitter was disappointed with India, there was an appreciation for the comeback made by Australia. Here are some reactions in this regard:
Largest defeat for India in ODI history in terms of balls left – 234.
