Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has expressed his gratitude towards Bus driver Sushil Kumar and conductor Paramjit who saved Rishabh Pant’s life after a horrific car accident. He said that the whole nation is very indebted to them for their selfless service.

Indian wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant on Friday (30th December) met with a tragic accident that saw him getting hospitalised. The southpaw was travelling from Delhi to Dehradun to surprise his mother and celebrate New Year together.
However, between Manglaur and Narsan in Haridwar he dozed off and as a result, his car collided with the divider and caught fire. But he was lucky as bus driver Sushil Kumar along with conductor Paramjit were present at the spot and came to his rescue.
Sushil who was driving the bus on the other side of the road saw Pant’s car crashing and catching fire. He along with his conductor immediately left the bus and went towards the cricketer’s car. They pulled him out of the car by breaking the mirror, wrapped in him a sheet and gave him water before calling the police and an ambulance.
Pant then was shifted to a lock hospital before being referred to Max Hospital in Dehradun. The keeper batter has suffered two lacerative wounds on his forehead along with a ligament tear in the knee and has also hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and has suffered abrasions on his back.
The 25-year-old underwent MRI scans, the reports which reportedly have suggested that his brain and spinal cord are all fine. However, the result of the MRI of his knee is yet to be known.

Sushil and Paramjit were lauded by many for their humanitarian effort and there were also awarded by the state government. Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman also expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the Bus driver and conductor who saved Rishabh Pant’s life after a horrific car accident.
Taking to his official Twitter account, he said: “Gratitude to #SushilKumar, a Haryana Roadways driver who took #RishabhPant away from the burning car, wrapped him with a bedsheet and called the ambulance.
We are very indebted to you for your selfless service, Sushil ji. Also special mention to the bus conductor, Paramjit who along with Driver Sushil helped Rishabh. Very grateful to these selfless guys who had great presence of mind and a big heart. Gratitude to them and all who helped.”
