Wasim Jaffer hilariously trolls Kevin Pietersen for old tweet as England loses T20 World Cup semifinal

Wasim Jaffer quoted the tweet where Kevin Pietersen had claimed nobody could beat England apart from Pakistan and Afghanistan

An old tweet of Kevin Pietersen about England’s strength as a T20 side and that they could be beaten only by Pakistan and Afghanistan in the T20 World Cup has gone massively wrong, and the former England batsman has now been trolled by Wasim Jaffer on Twitter.

Pietersen had been trolled by a lot of Twitter users on that tweet after England’s last group game itself where they were beaten by South Africa at Sharjah, but the tweet got even more traction last night after England got eliminated losing to New Zealand in the semifinal of the tournament.

It was a semifinal where England went with the favorites’ tag and there were hardly any pundits out there who backed the Blackcaps to get the better of the ODI World Cup champions who had a power-packed line up. But, batting first on a decent surface, England probably fell short of the par score by 10 runs because of the slowish start they got.

Jason Roy was injured and England slotted Jonny Bairstow at the top of the order, who is an equally explosive batsman, but New Zealand’s quality and control with the new ball didn’t allow the English openers the freedom to hit boundaries as fluently as they normally do.

England’s slow start proved to be the reason they fell short of the par score as their eventual score of 166 was chased down by the Kiwis with an over to spare.

Wasim Jaffer quoted the old tweet of Kevin Pietersen with a picture of Kane Williamson

Earlier today, Jaffer dug out that old tweet of Kevin Pietersen where he had said England couldn’t be beaten by anyone apart from Pakistan and Afghanistan. The former Indian opener quoted the tweet with the picture of a cheekily smiling Kane Williamson and wrote “Haa, hum to yaha bass Burj Khalifa dekhne aaye hai” (as if we have come here to see Burj Khalifa).

This is not the first time Wasim Jaffer has trolled an England cricketer for his prediction. He has done that to Michael Vaughan as well, a couple of times in the past when the former England captain predicted India’s defeat.

Jaffer’s Twitter account has very quickly become one of the most popular accounts on cricket twitter because of his excellent sense of humor and perspective on every cricketing situation.

I write a bit on cricket and I am more interested in technical and tactical side of the game, rather than bravado.
