Roman Reigns’ rumored drafting to which WWE brand in the 2023 WWE Draft has been revealed.
On SmackDown a couple of weeks ago, Triple H, Head of WWE Creative, made a rare appearance and he made a major announcement. He announced that the WWE Draft would be happening in the coming weeks and claimed that “when it is all said and done, this year’s Draft will change the game.” Then WWE revealed that it would be a two-night event starting on the April 28th edition of SmackDown. It will be ending on the May 1st edition of RAW.
As the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, the WWE Universe expects Roman Reigns to be the first pick in the draft. Ringside News reports that USA Network, which broadcasts RAW, is adamant about having The Tribal Chief exclusively for itself. Allegedly, for them, having Roman and The Bloodline is the top priority.
Will WWE World Heavyweight Championship be on RAW after Draft 2023?
They want this even more than having a RAW world title. According to Ringside News, “The WWE Draft is coming up, and that will bring big changes. We are told that USA Network wants Roman Reigns over anything else. Having a title belt exclusive to RAW is ‘second choice’ for USA Network. The Bloodline ‘remains first choice’ for them.” Judging by this pursuit of a major network for Roman, he and his faction will probably go to RAW.
The splitting of the world titles is a done deal as Triple H himself announced it on this week’s RAW. He even unveiled a new World Heavyweight Championship belt this week. It will feature on the brand that Roman doesn’t end up on.
This brand will crown a new champion at the Night of Champions next month, who will sport the new belt. The announcement came after Triple H explained how Roman had negotiated a contract with minimal title-defences. This was good for Reigns but not good for WWE. This Friday’s SmackDown is a must-watch as it’s the first night of the draft.
