Twitter Reacts To Rishabh Pant’s Brilliant Century Against South Africa
At the start of Day 3, Team India was yet again at the receiving end. However, Rishabh Pant turned up in top form which has allowed India to stay relevant in the game. In this article, we take a look at how Twitter reacted to Rishabh Pant’s brilliant century against South Africa in Cape Town.
Rishabh Pant’s brilliant century against South Africa
India was two wickets down at stumps on Day 2. Hence, they needed a solid partnership on the morning of Day 3 to give a hard target for the Proteas. However, both Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane got out quickly. Hence, India was yet again in trouble.
Coming into this game, Pant was under pressure. He had a forgettable outing at Wanderers and needed a good knock to stop the talks around him. For him, the situation was hard, but he displayed good maturity. He attacked the deliveries calculatingly and also left a few of them. Pant’s defence was also top-notch. Of course, in his trademark style, he also hit a few boundaries. Combining with the tail-enders, the southpaw added some vital runs to the total. Overall, Pant scored 100 runs from 139 deliveries, with six boundaries and four sixes. Pant scored more than half of India’s runs and also remained unbeaten at the end.
Meanwhile, the other batter’s struggled and India needs yet another solid show by the bowlers to pull off a victory. South Africa needs 212 runs to win the game and the series.

History by Rishabh Pant – he becomes the first Asian wicketkeeper to score Test century in South Africa. A Test hundred in Australia, England and now South Africa and he's just 24. A very very special player. pic.twitter.com/Ae68pLYG7V

Imagine hitting more than half of the team runs, a century against a hostile attack abroad, yet you are not sure if this is his best innings at just 24 years of age. What a man! Rishabh Pant

That was obviously a great innings from a run-scoring perspective from Pant but donโt let that distract from his wicket preservation as well. According to our expected wickets model the balls Pant faced wouldโve got an average batsman out 2.4 times; Pant remained not out. #SAvIND
