West Indies skipper for their T20 squad made a heart-wrenching announcement that said Caribbean all-rounder, Dwayne Bravo has decided to call it a day in international cricket after the T20 World Cup. In a video message during the West Indies Pakistan series, Pollard was seen sharing a special message for his teammate. The message said,

“I just want to take this opportunity to wish one of our stalwarts. In all three formats, he has played though he retired from the other two a long time back. But Bravo is playing his final game in Maroon on the Caribbean soil. We look forward to that.”

Dwayne Bravo previously stepped down from all forms of cricket in November 2018. However, he was plucked out of retirement to star in T20’s in December 2019. Going by his stature and prowess in T20 cricket, he will play a crucial role in the West Indian aspirations to lift the coveted trophy.

Dwayne Bravo’s impressive statistics

The Caribbean all-rounder has made 138 international appearances until now which are further segregated in 15 Tests, 93 ODI’s and 40 T20I’s.

Bravo announced that the T20 match against Pakistan will be the last T20 match that he will be playing in his country. He made this confession during a team huddle.

He has been an absolute Titan in the Caribbean colours in the shortest format of the game. His T20 career highlights are absolutely colossal with two trophies under his belt, won in 2012 and 2016.

Alongside his belligerent batting, he is also a very economical bowler and shares a sturdy knack for a few wickets in the death overs. He is also deemed as a death-over specialist. He claimed 76 wickets from 85 T20 matches to become the leading wicket-taker of the West Indies in the shortest format of the game.

Alongside his international duties, he is also a lethal moniker to feature in several T20 franchise leagues around the globe. Going by the rumours, Bravo may even step down from the IPL after the end of the current edition of the tournament.
