BCCI has announced the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. The event will start on October 17th and will be held in the UAE and Oman. India will start as one of the firm favourites to lift the trophy. MS Dhoni, who won India the T20 World Cup in 2007, will mentor the squad. Major surprises in the World Cup squad
Team India’s squad was filled with plenty of surprises for the event. While the comeback of R Ashwin is the talking point, the absence of Shikhar Dhawan and Yuzvendra Chahal has also triggered discussions. Shreyas Iyer will be one of the standby players, and T Natarajan has been excluded from the squad.

MS Dhoni gets appointed as mentor for Team India
The big news, though, is that MS Dhoni will return to Team India, albeit in a different role. The World Cup-winning captain will wear the hat of the mentor for the squad. Jay Shah has confirmed the news, and this has excited the fans of the legend.
MS Dhoni had played all the six editions of the T20 World Cup, but had announced his retirement on August 15th, 2020. His return to the squad will be a big boost for Team India’s chances.
