The 38th match of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League featured an epic battle between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Chennai Super Kings. Ravindra Jadeja was the star of the match. The Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first in their match against the Chennai Super Kings. Shubman Gill got run out early, but Venkatesh Iyer and Rahul Tripathi took the score to 50 runs in the powerplay.
CSK bounced back by taking some wickets, but the Kolkata Knight Riders managed to cross the 170-run mark eventually. None of the batters of the Kolkata Knight Riders could score a fifty against the Chennai Super Kings. But an 11-ball 26 from Dinesh Karthik, a 27-ball 37 from Nitish Rana and a 33-ball 45 from Rahul Tripathi helped the Kolkata Knight Riders post 171/6 in 20 overs.

Chennai Super Kings’ opening pair Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis has been one of the most consistent ones in the Indian Premier League this year. Both batters have scored runs consistently for the team. The trend continued in the match against the Kolkata Knight Riders as well, as Gaikwad scored a 28-ball 40, while Du Plessis aggregated 43 runs off 30 deliveries.
Moeen Ali also contributed 32 runs. However, the other batters of the CSK team could not score big. At one moment, it seemed like CSK would lose the match despite the start from Gaikwad and Du Plessis.
Ravindra Jadeja played a game-changing knock for CSK against KKR
Ravindra Jadeja then rescued the Chennai Super Kings by playing a knock of 22 runs from eight balls. The left-handed batter smashed two fours and two sixes in his brief innings.
