The Indian cricket team made an epic comeback to defeat the England cricket team in the fourth match of their ICC World Test Championship series. India won the fourth Test at Kennington Oval in London by 157 runs.
After seeing Team India’s performance on the first day of the Kennington Oval Test match, very few would have expected them to bounce back the way they did. Also, the momentum was on England’s side because they had defeated the visitors by an innings in the previous Test match at Headingley. England took a 99-run first innings lead, courtesy of half-centuries from Chris Woakes and Ollie Pope.
Rohit Sharma leads the epic comeback from Team India
The opening batsman of the Indian cricket team Rohit Sharma inspired the visitors’ epic comeback in the fourth Test match. The right-handed batsman registered his first Test century outside India and scored 127 runs off 256 deliveries. He smashed 14 fours and a six in his knock.
Sharma received support from number three batsman Cheteshwar Pujara. Cheteshwar scored 61 runs, while KL Rahul and Virat Kohli also reached the 40s. In the lower middle order, Rishabh Pant and Shardul Thakur had a 100-run partnership for the seventh wicket. Shardul, who scored a fifty in the first innings, recorded one half-century. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant also scored a half-century.
England received 368 runs to win the 4th Test match
The home side received an improbable target of 368 runs to take a 2-1 lead at Kennington Oval. They made a good start as opening batsmen Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns scored a fifty each. But the other batsmen could not contribute much.
Some fantastic bowling from the Indian bowlers, especially Jasprit Bumrah, gave India the upper hand. Now, India has an opportunity to win the series by 2-1 or 3-1. Here are some of the best Twitter reactions after India beat England with an epic comeback at Kennington Oval.

Brilliant Test match. India have struck a mighty blow and it will take something special at Old Trafford for a battered and bruised England to draw the series now. #ENGvIND
