KL Rahul silenced all the critics after his match-winning performance in the first game against Australia. The batter played a staggering role with the bat and made sure that he guides his team to victory and help them take a 1-0 lead in the series.
After India bundled out Australia for just 188 runs, it seemed that they would pave their way to an easy victory. But things didn’t work out well for them as the opposition pacers bowled some tight lines and lengths and reduced them to 16/3.
It was at that time when Rahul stepped in and soaked in all the pressure. The batter played staggering well and despite the wicket tumbling the at other end, he looked unfazed and held the fort for his side. He looked positive and played some sensational strokes.
Rahul smashes a staggering half-century and ended with an unbeaten knock of 75 runs and guided his side home. He stitched a crucial unbeaten 108 runs partnership with Ravindra Jadeja (45*) and made sure that he help his side take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Following Rahul’s epic knock in the first game, Venkatesh Prasad, who has been criticising the batter a lot for his poor performances, lavished rich praise on the keeper-batter. Taking to his Twitter account, he said:
