Trent Boult picks three batters he found difficult to bowl to in his T20 career

Trent Boult picked 9 wickets in ILT20.

Ace New Zealand pacer Trent Boult has picked three batters that he found difficult to bowl to in his T20 career. The left-arm seamer picked Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and KL Rahul, saying that T20 cricket is one of those games where guys are out there trying to express themselves and take the game on with no fear.

“The standards of cricket is exceptional,” Trent Boult on ILT20

New Zealand pacer Trent Boult is arguably among the best left-arm pacers the world of cricket has ever seen. The lanky fast bowler has destroyed the batting lineups with his staggering ability to swing the ball up front. However, not only with the powerplay, he has been lethal at the death as well.

Not only to the national side, but Boult has been a pivotal player for franchises all over the world. He recently hogged the headlines when he opted out of New Zealand’s central contract list. However, after that, he has been quite an active player in leagues around the world.

Boult recently appeared in DP World International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates, where he represented the MI Emirates. His side reached the playoffs of the tournament before facing a defeat to Gujarat Giants in the second playoff match in Dubai.

Boult played an instrumental role in his team’s success as he picked 9 wickets in 9 games at an average and economy of 29.33 and 6.96 to go with the BBI of 2/19. He spoke about the challenge in the league. While speaking to Hindustan Times, he said:

That’s the challenge you want. You come to the tournament not knowing what to expect. The standards of cricket is exceptional. There’s been some great performances. The quality is there among all six sides. Teams are stacked with lots of talent.”

Trent Boult was then asked to pick three batters he found difficult to bowl to in his T20 career. Calling it a tricky question, he named Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard and KL Rahul, saying that T20 cricket is one of those games where guys are out there trying to express themselves and take the game on with no fear. He said:

“That’s a tricky question. There are so many batters. I’ve always found (Chris) Gayle very hard to bowl to, I’ve found KL Rahul very hard to bowl to. Polly (Pollard) would be up there as well. T20 cricket is one of those games where guys are out there trying to express themselves, take the game on, no fear. Pretty exciting product, really.”

Boult is not a part of the New Zealand squad for the Test Series against England. He is likely to be seen in action during the IPL, which will be played next month.
