WWE dropped a major bombshell in recent weeks announcing an unexpected yet major blockbuster main event title match between the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and internet sensation Logan Paul for their next pay-per-view after Extreme Rules on November 5, WWE Crown Jewel, set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in a venue to be announced.

The seeds were planted during the Head of the Table’s appearance on Logan’s IMPALSIVE podcast leading to the YouTube star proclaiming that he could be the one to knock Reigns off his throne. Things escalated further when he was invited to Smackdown the same week and found himself in a heated verbal exchange with Roman’s wise man Paul Heyman. Logan Paul did not rest there and journeyed to Las Vegas to attend a special press conference presided over by the Tribal Chief Roman Reigns to confront him face-to-face.
This confrontation that almost came to blows leading to a potential breakout brawl was controlled and WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H made the huge match announcement for WWE Crown Jewel. This will be Logan Paul’s third match in the WWE after being victorious in a tag team match with The Miz against the Mysterios at WrestleMania 38 and then dethroning the Awesome One just a few months ago at WWE SummerSlam in his first ever one-on-one match.

Roman Reigns’ latest title match opponent Drew McIntyre, who came up short in dethroning the Tribal Chief at WWE Clash at the Castle gave his prediction during an interview with My SA on the Crown Jewel match, claiming that Logan Paul would be smashed by the Bloodline leader:
“Logan Paul has done a great job, but I don’t know about fighting for the titles. I think the titles should be reserved for people who worked up the card and put the time in. It will be a spectacle and Roman will smash him and people will talk about it.”
