WWE Elimination Chamber is one of the top PPVs of the company. The pay-per-view event features some of the biggest matches on the Road to WrestleMania. This year, WWE has planned two Elimination Chamber matches. The first is for the WWE championship. In that bout, Drew McIntyre will put his title on the line against five former champions.
Not many Superstars have successfully defended their world title at the Elimination Chamber. WWE often makes last-minutes changes on the Road to WrestleMania. Hence, it results in a title change. It is challenging to win the Elimination Chamber match. However, these five Superstars successfully defended their world title inside the demonic structure.
5. Triple H was the first champion to defend his title successfully inside Elimination Chamber
Triple H is a WWE legend. He was the first Superstar to enter the Elimination Chamber as the WWE Champion. However, HHH could not defend his title successfully in 2002. Shawn Michaels won that match. In 2003, The Game entered the Elimination Chamber as the champ once again.
This time, he came out of the fallacious structure with the belt. The match featured several legends. Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, Shawn Michaels, and Randy Orton were the participants of that match. SummerSlam hosted this six-way match. Ultimately, Triple H stood tall with his World Heavyweight Championship.
4. John Cena
Another legend present on this list is John Cena. The Leader of Cenation is one of the only two Superstars with 16 WWE title wins. Cena had excellent world title reigns. He put his world title on the line inside the Elimination Chamber at New Year’s Revolution 2006. Cena defeated five other men to keep hold of his title.
Carlito, Chris Masters, Shawn Michaels, Kane, and Kurt Angle challenged Cena then. John entered the match second. He lasted till the end to win the bout. However, Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank contract later that night. Eventually, Edge left the building with the world title.
3. Edge
Speaking of Edge, the Hall of Famer won the 2011 Elimination Chamber match. Edge put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line versus Rey Mysterio, Kane, Drew McIntyre, Big Show, and Wade Barrett. This was Edge’s last Elimination Chamber match before retirement. The Rated-R Superstar was successful in his title defense. He continued to stay at the top of the SmackDown brand with that win.
Edge entered that match first. Although four Superstars entered after him, Edge did not lose. Big Show was the last man standing with Edge. Although Big Show is the World’s Largest Athlete, he could not down Edge that night. Edge became the first Superstar to defend his title successfully, while holding SmackDown’s top prize.
2. CM Punk
CM Punk is one of the most controversial names in WWE history. The company’s relation with him is not so nice. WWE fired him on his marriage day. The fans want him back in WWE. However, Punk is not ready to come back.
Punk has tried his hand at UFC. However, his record in that sport is disappointing. Speaking of his performance inside the Elimination Chamber, CM Punk defended his championship successfully at the 2012 PPV. The Miz, Chris Jericho, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, and R-Truth tried to dethrone Punk. But, Punk was successful in retaining the world title.
1. Daniel Bryan
Later in the same night, Daniel Bryan defended his World Heavyweight Championship inside the Elimination Chamber. Interestingly, even Bryan was successful in winning the match. His opponents were Santino Marella, Wade Barrett, Cody Rhodes, The Great Khali and Big Show. Any of them could have defeated Bryan. However, the same did not happen.
Big Show and The Great Khali had a physical advantage over Bryan. Even Barrett is a strong Superstar. Still, Daniel took the advantage of being the last entrant. He spent the least time inside the ring. But, Bryan managed to submit Santino Marella in the end to retain his title.
