Yesterday in the Indian Premier League match between the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals, the Mumbai Indians chased the 91-run target at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in just 8.2 overs. The Mumbai-based franchise first restricted the Jaipur-based franchise to 90/9 in 20 overs. Since the Rohit Sharma-led outfit needed a boost in their net run rate, they went all out from the word go.
The Mumbai Indians then took only 50 balls to score 91 runs and won the game by eight wickets. Ishan Kishan starred in the team’s win as he scored 50 runs off 25 deliveries and played an important role in the victory of the Mumbai Indians team. However, fans should note that this is not the fastest run-chase in the history of the Indian Premier League. There have been a few instances when the second innings target was scored even before 8.2 overs. Here’s a look at the top four fastest run-chases in IPL history.
