Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by three wickets on Thursday at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium in Mumbai. MS Dhoni was the star of the game and after his performance, Jadeja showed his respect for the legend. Though he started IPL 2022 with a good fifty, MS Dhoni had found himself in an unconvincing form in the last few games. With the team struggling, MSD had to step up and he did so against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians. The four-time IPL-winning skipper scored 16 runs in the last four deliveries to chase the target down for CSK. At one point, the defending champions looked to be out of the chase and it was their talisman who saved them again. MSD ended with a score of 28(13)* by the end of the game.
Ravindra Jadeja has not had it easy ever since he took over the captaincy. Apart from the team results, his personal performances have also not gone the desired route. Against Mumbai Indians, Jaddu had yet another failure with the bat and the team was also looking at one more defeat. However, after MS Dhoni pulled off the incredible chase, Jadeja was a relieved man. He bowed to the former skipper after the game and that picture has now gone viral. Incidentally, in CSK’s previous win against Royal Challengers Bangalore, after he took Dinesh Karthik’s catch, Jadeja fell on the ground in relief after being confirmed of another win.
