Three Indian players for whom the ODI series against Bangladesh will be extremely important

It’s fair to say that, India has been under scrutiny for their poor performances of late. They are doing a wonderful job in the bilateral series but haven’t been able to replicate the same performance in the big tournaments. Few players have come under scanner too as there it’ll important for them to prove their point as well. Let’s look at three Indian players for whom the ODI series against Bangladesh will be extremely important.

Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant has become the centre of attraction for his poor performances of late in white-ball cricket. Rated as a ‘generational talent’, the keeper batter hasn’t done justice to his reputation in T20Is, and put his place under scanner even in the ODIs despite having a good record in the 50-over format. He failed to set the stage on fire in New Zealand as he failed miserably in both T20I as well as ODI series. With Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan also on the bench, Pant will be under a lot of pressure to perform in ODIs against Bangladesh.

Rohit Sharma

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma of late has been under a lot of scrutinies for his form. The right-hander was not at his best in T20 World Cup 2022 as he failed miserably and presided for low totals. Following his continuous failures, many questioned his place and were of the opinion that being a senior he should make way for youngsters for the future. Coming off the lean patch, he would want to remind his critics as why he as rated as one of the best batters. With ODI being his prime format, it’ll be a golden opportunity for him to assert his authority yet again.

KL Rahul

Third Indian player for whom the ODI series against Bangladesh will be extremely important is KL Rahul. The right-hander is most likely to bat in the middle order as it’s fair to say that Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill have locked that spot. Also with Rahul not being in the greatest of touch along with strong competition in the middle, it’ll be an extremely important series for him to claim his spot in the Indian side.
