“This One Is So Hard”- Former WWE Writer Explains Why Damian Priest Dethroning Roman Reigns Will Be A Mistake

Former WWE Writer Vince Russo has opined that Damian Priest dethroning Roman Reigns as the Undisputed Universal Champion would be a big mistake. In Russo’s view, Priest has received 50/50 booking, which is why he does not feel that the Archer of Infamy is the right person to end Roman’s reign.

Roman Reigns has been the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion for a long time now. Several Superstars have tried to end his reign but all of them have failed. Damian Priest has never challenged Reigns before. The Judgment Day member recently won the Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match, which guarantees him a championship match of his choosing at any time he wants.

Quite a few fans feel that Damian Priest will be the one to dethrone Roman Reigns. However, speaking on Writing With Russo show, Vince Russo had other views.

“See, bro, this one is so hard because, listen, for somebody to beat Roman, it’s got to be somebody you really want to make. And again, I don’t think it can be somebody whose past has been 50-50 booking. I really don’t.”(H/T Sportskeeda Wrestling)

Before winning Money in the Bank, Priest lost a singles match against Bad Bunny at Backlash. He also failed to win the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of a RAW episode against Seth Rollins.

“I like his look”- Vince Russo says he would book Damian Priest to be as dominant as Roman Reigns

During the same show, Vince Russo further spoke about how he would book Damian Priest on WWE TV if he were still a writer for the company.

“I’ve made it clear; I’m a fan of Damian Priest. I like Damian Priest! I like his look. If I was writing for him, it would have been to the moon.”

Priest is currently a part of RAW roster, where he patched up with his Judgment Day teammate Finn Balor recently. On the other side, Roman Reigns is prepping up for a rumored SummerSlam match against his cousin Jey Uso.
