Mumbai Indians have suffered a major blow as Premier pacer Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the IPL 2023. The franchise confirmed the development ahead of the clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday (9th May).
Jofra Archer struggled with his fitness throughout the tournament and played just 5 games in the tournament, taking 2 wickets. He didn’t play all the games for the team this team and also didn’t look in his rhythm.
His absence will leave a massive void in MI’s bowling lineup as it is relatively inexperienced. In his place, Mumbai Indians named Chris Jordan as a replacement. The pacer has played 28 games and has taken 27 wickets in the league.
Mumbai Indians are currently 8th on the points table but they are one of the favourites to qualify for the playoffs. The absence of Archer although will leave a void but it’ll be an opportunity for Jordan to prove his worth and make them win.
