“They Mentioned On Commentary”- A Twitter User Points Out Sami Zayn Fasted The Entire Day Before Epic Win On RAW

Sami Zayn recorded one of the most important victories of his WWE career last night on RAW. He ran through the gauntlet and defeated Ricochet, JD McDonagh, Chad Gable, Shinsuke Nakamura and ‘Big’ Bronson Reed to earn the right to challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania XL.

While Sami Zayn produced an epic performance on RAW, the commentary team mentioned on air that the former tag team champion had been fasting throughout the day before RAW. It was the first day of Ramadan, and Zayn observed a fast, meaning he did not eat or drink anything from dawn to sunset.

A Twitter user picked up the line from Michael Cole on commentary and posted the following tweet:

“They mentioned on commentary that Sami Zayn has been fasting today because of Ramadan & how it might affect his performance in the Gauntlet. Love that.”

The tweet has received almost 9,000 likes on Twitter so far. Many fans lauded Michael Cole and Pat McAfee for mentioning the same on air. Zayn will now head to WrestleMania XL and challenge Gunther for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Chad Gable fans were unhappy when Sami Zayn pinned him on WWE RAW

Zayn pulled off an epic win on RAW last night, but quite a few WWE fans were upset because their favorite Chad Gable ended up on the losing side. Apparently, Gable’s shoulder was up when the referee counted to three, but Zayn won the match eventually.

After Monday night RAW went off the air, fans suggested Gable to be added to the WrestleMania XL match as well. Gable has a lot of emotional connect with the Intercontinental Championship. The champion Gunther made his daughter cry on an episode of RAW last September.

It will be interesting to see if WWE adds Gable to the match. WrestleMania XL will take place on April 6 and 7 in Philadelphia.
