Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) kickstarted their IPL 2023 with a dominating campaign. They thumped Mumbai Indians by 8 wickets at their home ground Chinnaswamy to make their first win of the season. It was sheer dominance from their side as they outclassed the opposition with both bat and ball.
With the ball, they first restricted the five-time champions to a total of 171 runs and after that, it was Virat Kohli’s show on the offer. The Indian batter along with skipper Faf du Plessis made the MI bowlers look clueless and stitched unbeaten 148 runs for the opening partnership. Kohli remained unbeaten on 82 runs and guided his side home.
RCB is now slated to lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in their own backyard at the Eden Gardens on Thursday (6th April). They would be high on confidence going into the game but KKR has been extremely dominant at their home ground and it promises to be a staggering encounter between the two heavyweights.
The Faf du Plessis-led side have reached Kolkata for their game and they received a grand reception at the venue. Hundreds of people gathered at the airport to welcome them and were cheering for them.
