Fans on Twitter were elated in joy after Jaydev Unadkat reportedly gets included in the Indian squad for the Test series against Bangladesh. They expressed their happiness with the left-arm pacer getting back in the Indian set-up and hilariously raised calls to make that official a selector who made this change.

After the ongoing ODI series, both Bangladesh and India will cross swords with each other in the two-match Test series. The two Test matches will be played in Chattogram on 14th December and Mirpur on 22nd December respectively. India has faced quite a few injuries on this tour as apart from Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah as many as five players are unfit.

Mohammad Shami, who injured himself ahead of the ODI series, has been ruled out of the Test series as well. While Umran Malik  replaced in the 50-over series, there were a lot is speculation about who will replace him in the Test series.

There were many reports suggesting that either of Umran, Mukesh Kumar or Navdeep Saini might replace him in the team. But all the reports have vanished and it is now learned that as per reports in Cricbuzz that Jaydev Unadkat has replaced Shami in the side.

As per the reports, Unadkat is waiting for his visa formalities and it’s only his second call-up for India in Tests. He last represented India in the 2010-11 tour of South Africa, where he went wicketless and then never found himself in the side.

Unadkat notably, has been a beast in the domestic circuit for Saurashtra. In the last three Ranji Trophy seasons, he has picked up 115 wickets in 21 matches. He played an instrumental role in his side’s title win in 2019-20, picking up 67 wickets, the second-highest haul by a bowler in a season.
