Tilak Varma made the headlines after he brought the best out of himself in the team’s opening fixture against Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

When all other batters of Mumbai Indians failed to live up to their reputation, Tilak Varma was the one who took the bowling attack to the cleaners like a hot knife through butter.

The left-handed batter displayed a great sense of aggression and determination to score runs. He thrived against the RCB throughout the game and ended up steering the team to a challenging total.

Tilak Varma was the pick of the batters of Mumbai Indians’ batting unit as he scored a valiant 84 off 46 balls. He constructed his innings with the help of nine boundaries and four hits over the fence.

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer, Mohammed Kaif opened up on Tilak Varma’s helicopter shot during a post-match discussion on Star Sports. He reserved the highest respect for the youngster for the way he approach the game against RCB.

He heaped praise on Tilak Varma for executing sensational and super strokes all around the park and emphasized that his helicopter shot had some glimpses of CSK skipper MS Dhoni.

It is cognizance of the fact that MS Dhoni is known for his trademark helicopter shots in his career. Tilak Varma executed the same in the last ball of MI’s innings against RCB.

Kaif added that Tilak uses his bottom hand and made room pretty well in his approach. Kaif reckons that Tilak has got good shots in his repertoire as he hit sixes straight down the ground and also plays the scoop shot.

Kaif also added that if one witnesses the helicopter shot through a mirror, then one would feel it would look like MS Dhoni since it will be a right-hander in the mirror.
