“The Girls Over There Are Legit”- Sasha Banks Speaks About Difference Between WWE And Japan

Mercedes Mone (former WWE superstar Sasha Banks) recently pointed out a big difference between wrestling in Japan and WWE. She was at a press conference recently, when she made the revelation.

Sasha Banks and Naomi were the Women’s Tag Team Champions last year before they walked out on WWE. After the walkout, they were both appearing on many fashion shows but never in a wrestling ring for a lengthy period of time. Finally, Banks showed up at NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 2023 event as Mercedes Mone & attacked their IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI. Eventually, she won the title and is their top star now.

Mercedes recently appeared for a Q&A panel for The Mandalorian at Megacon. They put up a question about the differences between wrestling in Japan and WWE to her and she had this to say, “It’s so different. Besides being in a whole different country with a completely different language barrier and not understanding anything, but it’s so magical because wrestling is so universal. I don’t have to say any words. The girls over there are legit.”

She also highlighted the discipline the Japanese wrestlers displayed and how she was nervous because of the language problems.

Sasha Banks wants Snoop Dogg Again

Mone is also related to hip hop legend Snoop Dogg, who is a WWE Hall of Famer. He has even performed once during her entrance and she wants him to do it again. While speaking to Tokyo Sports she mentioned that if she ever main evented Tokyo Dome, she’d want Snoop Dogg again.

Recently, she defended her title against AZM and Hazuki in a triple-threat match at NJPW Sakura Genesis. She will defend it again on April 23rd against Mayu Iwatani. Her former partner, Naomi (Trinity Fatu), still remains out of action. Naomi’s profile is still available on WWE.COM, which means she is not a free agent yet.
