The Best Playing XI Of Players Who Have Registered Themselves For INR 2 Cr In IPL 2022 Mega-Auctions

IPL has announced the list of players who have registered themselves for the upcoming mega-auctions. The base price of some popular players is already out on the internet. INR 2 crores will be the highest base price at the bidding event. In this article, we take a look at a strong playing XI of players who have registered for a base price of INR 2 Cr in IPL 2022 mega-auctions.

Openers: Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner (C)

Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner will open the batting for this playing XI of players who have registered for a base price of INR 2 Cr in IPL 2022 mega-auctions. Dhawan and Warner, who feature at No.2 and No.5 in the list of highest IPL run-getters so far, are set for a final big payday at the auctions.

Both Dhawan and Warner are experienced cricketers and could be decent picks to lead the team, as well. The USP of both these former Sunrisers Hyderabad players is their ability to remain consistent throughout the season. The likes of RCB and Punjab Kings, who are looking for a skipper, might target Warner while there will be a queue of teams that would be interested in Dhawan.

Middle-Order: Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan (WK)

Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan will be the middle-order batsmen in this XI. Both Iyer and Kishan were expected to be picked up by the new teams. However, they will now be entering the auctions.

One of Iyer or Kishan is likely to become the highest-paid player at the upcoming bidding event. While Iyer is a captaincy material apart from being a solid batter, Kishan will be the top wicket-keeper option for teams looking to fill the role.

All-Rounders: Mitchell Marsh, Shakib Al Hasan and Harshal Patel

It will be a strong middle-order for this XI of players who have registered for a base price of INR 2 Cr in IPL 2022 mega-auctions. Most of the franchises have retained the top all-rounders as this category of players come in less quantity.

Mitchell Marsh, who is in the form of his life, will be at the centre of a bidding war. At No.3, he adds terrific balance to the XI. He can also bowl a few overs of medium-pace, if necessary. Although Shakib’s IPL form has dropped, if used in the right way, he can still come good. The key will be using the Bangladesh player as a batsman in the top order. Harshal Patel will be one of the Indians who can trigger a baton-lifting war between franchises. He won the Purple Cap in IPL 2021 and Harshal can also be used as a hitter in the lower order.

Bowlers: R Ashwin, Deepak Chahar, Yuzvendra Chahal and Trent Boult

In recent years, quality pace bowlers have been top-earners at the auctions. That would not change, although, the spinners could also rule the roost this time around. Especially the Indian spinners will be in huge demand. Ashwin and Chahal, both of whom are experienced, will be wanted by a lot of teams. Ashwin could also be backed to captain a team.

In the pace department, we have Deepak Chahar and Trent Boult. Both Chahar and Boult have been in good form in recent seasons. While Deepak has been impactful in the powerplay, Boult has done well at both ends of the innings. The Rajasthan cricketer’s batting has also improved, which will be noted by all teams.
