1) Reece Topley
Reece Topley could play just one game in IPL 2025, and that came at an important time. MI could explore other options when it comes to finding a backup for Trent Boult. They must hire a foreign pacer who could also feature in the playing XI.
2) Mujeeb Ur Rahman is one of the players Mumbai Indians might release before IPL 2026
The Afghan was picked as the replacement for Allah Ghazanfar. Hence, it is inevitable that MI releases Mujeeb. While Mujeeb did play a few games, he was not impressive. He does well in the powerplay, but MI already has fine powerplay bowlers. Hence, Allah will be a better fit for the side.
3) Karn Sharma
Mumbai Indians will want someone young and with better defensive ability for this role. There are quite a few mystery spinners in the market, and with Allah Ghazanfar in the squad, MI might need Karn. While Karn picks wickets, he often leaks runs, as well.
