Yuzvendra Chahal was surprisingly ignored by the selection committee for the ICC T20 World Cup, and many fans feel that the Indian cricket team paid the price for that decision. India and Pakistan played their respective first games of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 tonight at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. India had never lost a match against Pakistan in World Cup matches before, but the streak has now ended.

Pakistan outplayed India in Dubai to record a famous 10-wicket win. All Pakistani fans will remember this win for ages because there had been not a single India vs. Pakistan game in Cricket World Cup history, where the Men in Green emerged victorious. Some decisions cost the Indian cricket team, and one of them was excluding Yuzvendra Chahal.

Why is Yuzvendra Chahal not playing in ICC T20 World Cup 2021?

Soon after the T20 World Cup squad announcement, the selectors announced that they preferred Rahul Chahar over Yuzvendra Chahal because he bowled ‘quick’. This decision surprised many fans because Chahal has an excellent record in the UAE. Here are the exact words of chief selector Chetan Sharma:

“Yuzvendra Chahal’s name was discussed. But we picked Rahul Chahar over Yuzi as we wanted someone who bowls fast and gets pace off the pitch. He also gets the ball to grip through the surface.”

The Pakistan cricket team did not lose a single wicket in their run-chase. The opening pair of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan guided the Pak istan cricket team home.
