“Shaheen Afridi has told me he is 110% fit and ready to take on India,” Ramiz Raja provides big update on Shaheen’s injury

Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has revealed that he has had a conversation with Shaheen Afridi and Shaheen has told him that he is 110% fit to take on India in the first game of the T20 World Cup on 23rd of October.

Pakistan is currently participating in a T20 tri-series against Bangladesh and New Zealand and Shaheen has been kept on the sidelines for that series, but Ramiz, while talking to Dawn news, made it clear that Shaheen is fit and will play in the practice matches ahead of the first World Cup game.

Talking about the nature of Shaheen’s injury, Ramiz Raja said that it was a very delicate injury and the team management as well as the cricket board didn’t want to take any chance unless sure that the player is 110% fit, but Shaheen is 110% fit right now. The game against India is still a couple of weeks away, so he is only going to get even fitter by the time that game arrives.

Ramiz Raja is not too confident about the recovery of Fakhar Zaman and Usman Qadir

Ramiz Raja then talked about the injuries of the other two Pakistani players, Fakhar Zaman and Usman Qadir as well, but he didn’t look too confident about the speed of their recovery. Ramiz almost hinted that Usman might not be fit in time as he has a hairline fracture in his finger.

Talking about Fakhar, who is in the reserves for the T20 World Cup and not a part of the main Pakistan squad, Ramiz said that Fakhar’s value as a player in T20 cricket is very high when he is fit and firing, but it’s the call of the team management if they want to include him in the main squad or not, in case of the left-hander recovers in time.

Fakhar Zaman’s performance in the Asia Cup was way below par because of this he was replaced by Shan Masood in Pakistan’s T20I squad.
