WWE has been a global giant in the world of Pro Wrestling. They have expanded their operations internationally over the years in various markets. One of those major strategic overseas market for the WWE is India. Now, according to Sportskeeda Wrestling, WWE plans to host a major blockbuster show in India in January 2023.
WWE has been involved with the Indian market since the mid-1990s. Over the span of 27 years, the company has hosted a total of 7 live events in India. Moreover, the Indian has often witnessed superstars like John Cena, Big Show, Sheamus and The New Day visit the country on promotional tours.
The last time WWE hosted a live event was back in 2017, billed as a one-day WWE Super-Show in India. The hype for hosting another event started with Drew McIntyre’s latest visit to India. McIntyre flew down straight to India from Saudi Arabi right after defeating Karrion Kross at WWE Crown Jewel.
McIntyre was very vocal of bringing WWE back to India. He put in the same effort to convince the higher-ups for an event in India as he did for bringing the experience to his home country of the United Kingdom
