Kevin Pietersen 

Kevin Pietersen is among the popular cricketers who came out of retirement to play cricket. The former English cricketer was one the best batters that represented in all three formats of the game. But his issues with England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the coach Peter Moores saw him announcing his retirement from cricket in 2011. But after calling time on his career, he took back his retirement one month later and then was part of the team for a while. He finally announced his retirement in 2018.

Ambati Rayudu 

Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu is also among the popular cricketers who came out of retirement to play cricket. After his sensational performance in IPL 2018, he made a comeback into the Indian side and was all set to be part of the team for the Cricket World Cup 2019 but the selectors picked Vijay Shankar instead, which hurt him and he in agony announced his retirement. However, after something he took a u-turn and was back to playing cricket. He finally called time on his career after winning IPL 2023 with Chennai Super Kings. 

Moeen Ali 

English all-rounder Moeen Ali recently came back from retirement. The injury to Jack Leach ahead of the Ashes 2023 made the ECB approach Moeen Ali to come out of retirement. He last played for the team in 2021 and since then didn’t play Test cricket. however, talks with the coach and management prompted him to take back his retirement from Test cricket and join the England squad for the Ashes 2023. Overall he has played 64 Tests and has scored 2,914 Test runs and has 195 wickets.
